Give your energy to things within your control.

The uncertainty of the current pandemic situation can create anxiety and worry – so here’s a quick 3 min exercise to offload some of the things that may be on your mind.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
*𝘞𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 @precisionnutrition.⁣⁣

Things we worry about generally fall into two categories ⁣⁣
𝟏. Things we 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 control ⁣⁣
𝟐. Things we 𝐜𝐚𝐧 control⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We can waste energy and increase our anxiety worrying about the things that fall into No 1. Or instead we can invest that energy into changing and controlling things that fall into No. 2⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So get your pen out, make a cup of tea, find a quite place and draw a few circles. Stick this on your fridge, keep it on your desk beside your computer or your bathroom mirror where you can see it daily. ⁣⁣

▪️The queue at Aldi⁣⁣
▪️The economy
▪️The American election ⁣⁣
▪️Brexit ⁣⁣
▪️What other people think⁣⁣
▪️My neighbours ⁣⁣

𝟐. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥⁣⁣
▪️My health⁣⁣
▪️What I do in my spare time⁣⁣
▪️What I listen to⁣⁣
▪️What I read⁣⁣
▪️What I look at on my phone⁣⁣
▪️What I cook⁣⁣
▪️My attitude⁣⁣
▪️What time I go to bed⁣⁣
▪️Who I give my time to⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And there is a 3rd area where we have some control:⁣⁣

▪️Family schedule / routine ⁣⁣
▪️Household Budget ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Once you write down something in the “No Control Over” list, leave your anxiety, worry and emotion about that item on the paper⁣.
