In January of this year I decided with all going on with the lockdown and not being able to work that it was the perfect time to focus on myself. Most of time I’m focused on helping others so I knew it was an opportunity to just solely focus on my own training and nutrition… for a while. – As a coach I hold people accountable so I knew I needed some accountability for myself so I contacted Larry and Kate from Larry Doyle coaching and joined his affiliate. Best decision I made, became a student again . Their guidance, education, support is amazing. I haven’t been new to training, but I am definitely new to the perspective and mindset Larry has helped me to achieve.
The Affiliate has really helped me to achieve my overall goal with developing a healthier perspective towards food. Rather than under fuelling my body, through education and learning Larry and… Kate have helped me to overcome these obstacles with my overall eating pattern.
This has been reinforced by an increase in my energy and performance both in and outside the gym! As a female, it can be intimidating to think about building muscle and eating more and it was for me in the beginning. However, feeling stronger, more energetic and all round brighter physically and mentally outweighed my fears and has become the most liberating feeling.
Building muscle and strength in my lower body has been the biggest challenge for me, reinforced with not properly fuelling my body for my workouts. I can now see a huge improvement in strength and muscle mass on areas that I couldn’t comprehend why I wasn’t seeing any change. It’s a work in progress and everyday I am learning but I can thank Larry for starting this path for me. He has taught me about my health holistically rather than just aesthetics.
I am excited to continue with Larry and building more muscle breaking down the barriers of what us as women as expected to look like and achieve what I thought I never could. I couldn’t recommend Larry and Kate more, what they understand is not one shoe size fits all. It is a person-centred approach and tailored to each individual’s needs. As well as increasing strength and muscle through Larry’s workout programs I also shaved 2 minutes off my 5km PB.
In April I contacted Larry for a maintenance program as with everything reopening over the summer months I knew I would struggle to keep weight off but at the same time I didn’t want to limit myself by taking on a fat loss program that I knew I would struggle to stick to. Through Larry’s… macro calculator I realised that previously I was massively undereating carbs and thus was always tired and in turn my workouts were suffering, as well as having a tendency to fall off my plan on the weekends. By upping my daily carb intake both my sleep and energy improved and therefore positively impacted my training. As well as increasing strength and muscle through Larry’s workout programs I also shaved 2 minutes off my 5km PB. On average my bodyweight stayed the same throughout the 5 months but my body composition changed significantly through increased muscle and reduced fat loss, particularly off my stomach which I always found difficult to reduce. Larry’s plan showed me that steady and sustainable is a far more effective approach than extreme aggressive quick fix plans. In the past I’ve struggled to increase calories without falling off plan (one bad day often leading to a bad week), in particular over the summer months when there is so much going on most weekends. By having the flexible structure of the macro goals I stuck with the plan throughout the 5 months while still enjoying myself. I had the freedom to eat and drink what I wanted at various occasions by focusing on the weekly average rather than daily, and tailoring my diet beforehand to balance for these days. I reached out to Larry and Kate amidst Covid lockdown, where I add access to some very basic gym equipment – DBs, a BB and a bench mostly. – I wanted a program that will have me focused with my workouts, going into the small gym, move weights and get out. – The programs were… fun, challenging (to the point of swearing Larry a few times… Sorry-not sorry) and had me feeling challenged by the end. – I’m the leanest I’ve ever been, losing 6.5kg in three months, not starving myself, and progressing through the workouts and programs. – I cannot recommend the Affiliate enough – to anyone, from beginners looking to create habits, to more advanced trainees looking to dial in their training and get some focus. – Thank you Larry and Kate!! The affiliate coaching is definitely the unintentionally best kept secret in the fitness industry. For €30 a month I had access to a new training program each month, tailored nutrition, a weekly accountability thread, a library full of training videos, video cookbooks and a online community that was so encouraging and helpful. – After my… 20 week cut that still had me eating every single day, I started into a maintenance/lean gain phase and chatted to Larry about my photoshoot goals and we made a plan. At 12 weeks out I switched to 1.1 coaching for the purpose of the photoshoot. There was no such thing as meal plans and this was one of the main reasons I chose Larry as I knew myself anything too restrictive would send me down a path I didn’t wish to revisit. Larry was also very clear from the word go that he would get me in shoot shape but wouldn’t do anything to compromise my health in the process for the sake of losing an extra lb or two. – My food didn’t really change at all in the lead up to the shoot, the quantity just got smaller. I was still having the likes of shepards pie and chicken and pasta bake the week before and of course my purple snack and kinder There was also no excessive cardio. 10/12 weeks were completed with only resistance bands and a 20kg bodypump bar with the roads being my own source of cardio due to gym closures. In making my weekly plan of action, Larry was very conscious of what I had on that week, work commitments, GAA training and matches, horse riding etc and make sure I was prioritising sleep, stress management, nutrition etc. He was also very good at talking me down from the “I won’t be lean enough” ledge when I was ready to throw the toys out of the pram The photoshoot experience has been immensely educational and I have learned so much about myself. I started the Affiliate with Larry back in January with no big expectations as I’ve always found it hard to stick to “diets”. 6 months on I look and feel like a whole new person. My relationship with my body and food had gone to the dogs. From working with Larry I can positively say… that has done a complete 180 and I’m the healthiest and happiest I have been in years. Larry’s no bull* approach to the fitness journey is amazing. No restrictions , no guilt tripping, just helpful , patient and real. Roughly I’m down 20lbs along with inches all over (8.5 on my waist alone). The reason I say “roughly” is because I’ve stopped being scale obsessed which is amazing for me. As someone who has had an obsessive relationship with those bathroom scales for years this is huge. If I feel bloated or crappy I refuse to step on the scales , I purely go off how I feel in myself. By stepping on the scales when I feel crap and seeing I’m up a pound or two (probably from the big meal I ate the night before) I would instantly self sabotage and through it all in the bin. But now I no longer do that which is why this has been the steadiest health journey I’ve ever gone on. Larry places an emphasis on being comfortable with the fact life happens , an ice cream on a sunny day or a meal out with friends isn’t going to instantly make you put back all the weight you have lost, and teaches you how to plan for this things and most importantly to enjoy yourself, which I love! I can’t thank Larry enough for helping me get to where I am now. 100% it was me who got up each day meal prepped and went to the gym , but without him my attitude to everything would be crap. I started with Larry in the start of the first lockdown last year after having a bad online coaching experience at the start of the year but wanting to find some accountability and structure in a mental time and it was one of the best decisions I made.
Larry & I set… the goal to fat loss & got to work. There was no massive calorie restrictions, no unrealistic exercise goals and most importantly no bull. As I was coaching classes on zoom my main resistance training was my 3 sessions a week, I had started running last year in lockdown and kept with it so I set a goal of 2 runs a week and to hit my steps goal of 10k a day. There was nothing sexy about it but if there is one thing I’ve learned from Larry above all is he has taught me the power of consistency! Ticking boxes day in day out and letting the weight look after itself.
After about 2 months in I got an offer to get some professional progress shots done at the beginning of June so after a chat with Larry I decided to go for it and we set our sites on getting in the best shape of my life and did we ever! I finished my 5 months having gone from 199lbs in jan to 173.2lbs and 12.1% body fat and while that’s amazing and I’m so proud the most important part I think is that from the start of Jan to 4th June when I got my pictures taken there is 24 weeks and in total I dropped 25.8lbs . In other words to get in the shape in my life I just had to consistently lose just over 1lb or 0.5kg a week, no massive drops or fads just long term sustainable fat loss where while I may not have always been able to eat everything I wanted there was nothing I couldn’t or didn’t eat. I had ice cream, I had cake, I had alcohol and yes bread! I couldn’t be more delighted with my results and more thankful to having the foresight to not hit the fuck it button and to stick with Larry, control the controllables and get shit done regardless of whether a room with 4 walls and weights was open or not. I started at 110kg, now I’m 22 kgs down over 6 months
I started my journey with Larry and Kate on the “Affiliate” programme in August 2020. I was 20 years of age and 110kg. Prior to this programme it took me 12 months to lose 4kg and this was due to unsustainable “diets” which was just pure rabbit food and starvation which just ended in comfort… and binge eating. I’ll be honest before I got involved with the Affiliate I had lost hope in trying to lose weight as I felt my size was now controlling my life emotionally and physically and there was no return. I had no self confidence or belief. Larry replied to my initial message within an hour and we began conversing and Larry decided that the Affiliate is the best way forward for me. Larry gave me the tools and motivation to do the work for myself and stayed in contact with me each week for a general check in ,ensuring that I am on track and confident with the work I am doing. I found this programme so ideal as each workout is 40minutes to an hour long when following Larry’s tempos and rest time so there is no excuse anymore for me to say “I don’t have time”. I am currently 6 months with Affiliate and I now weigh 88kg. The physical difference is great I’m lighter, stronger, fitter and faster but mentally I feel I’ve achieved much more. I am much happier,confident and now love looking at myself in the mirror and actually feeling happy with how I look. To be honest I can’t wait till we are back to a normal way of living in so I can finally have a photo taken of myself without the mental worry of if I’ve a double chin, if look fat or “are my clothes too tight”. I’m 6kgs down so far and still going….
The Affiliate has been really good so far. I started in February at 104 kg, now down to 98 kg, so moving in the right direction. I can really notice the change in my body shape in comparison to my start out pictures.
The Affliate is just what I had been looking for, I have got a huge amount from it and I’m really really loving it so far!
I love the workouts. I love that it’s done for you and it’s there at the start of the month ready to go. I love that assurance that a professional has designed it so I’m getting whatever muscles etc I need to be getting at the right reps and sets. It’s that confidence that I’m… getting a proper workout done at home (which is great for me) but overseen by someone who knows what they’re doing. I would consider my self pretty knowledgeable when it comes to eating right but that has come with a lot of black and white thinking. So carbs bad etc (I’m sure you’re familiar!) And I’ve relaxed a lot in terms of what I’m eating. I’m focusing a lot more on just the macros, protein and the calories. To be honest I didn’t think I’d get much out of the eating side of things and I have got a huge amount from it. So as you can probably tell from my ramblings I’m really really loving it so far. The mindset change has been such a game changer. I am the WORST for thinking I missed a workout ok may as well just just start next week. Or I had a slice of bread start again tomorrow and then downward spiral when you do the same thing the next day. This mindset change has been friggin awesome actually and I can’t thank you enough. I mean it’s obvious but you do seem to get it across so well in those wonderful facebook motivational speeches!!! It’s approximately 10 weeks since I started the affiliate – 84kg and currently tracking at 75.4kg. Looking better, feeling better, sleeping better and have been able to maintain a consistency in a different way to what I have done before. MFP, macro cheat sheet have been game changers for me & being more balanced on… (a) food – allowing for ‘so called’ bad foods and working rest of cals/macros around it and (b) workouts – not always pushing myself to go balls to the wall. My confidence and strength is in the best place they have ever been.
So here I am 7 months and 8 kilos later, something I never thought I’d be proud to say. I’d just about recovered from a lower body injury when I reached out to Larry back in August 2020. My lower half had vanished as you can see Between… lockdown, injury and lack of confidence after training and strenght went down hill I was feeling so down in myself and just lost, I needed someone to take over and guide me. And as a coach myself know exactly the positive outcomes that can bring. I think if Larry told me I’d be gaining 8 kilos and eating 3000 cals daily I would of ran a mile But here we are, confidence and strenght in the best place they have ever been. But its not just a matter of eating more, and that’s where I found the guidance fantastic. Digestion, rest, sleep, training with progressive overload always in mind, I could talk for days here. Its been far from an easy ride but its been worth it. Something I’m so passionate about myself is removing the fear of these phases away from females, the extra food, getting comfortable not been comfortable and stepping outside that safety net. Hoping these pictures can show and inspire others to do the same and remind people that constant dieting is not how you build strenght, “tone up”, build glutes and overall muscle mass. Weight will go on, fat will go on, the food must be ate, thats all part of it. Excited now to strip things back with a dieting phase over the next few weeks and see exactly what we have done. I find I have energy every day to deal with a young baby at home and get the 3-5 workouts in weekly so I’m delighted with my progress!
So I started around the end of January and have lost 3kg since. I started out on fat loss macro’s and still stick to them, however nowadays I find myself happy with the progress I’m making (muscle ‘definition’ is getting better each week) so I’ve tended not to even track my macros anymore. I solely… use MFP for tracking my protein intake just to make sure I hit that. I’m sure I could be more aggressive and rigid with my tracking and lose weight even faster, but the way I’m operating now feels much more relaxed to me and is much better for my adherence. I find I make the right choices daily when it comes to what I eat, and if I have a takeaway at the weekend I know how to pull back on some cals elsewhere to make up for this. For the first time in forever I haven’t been constantly thinking about food, my weight and criticising myself when I look in the mirror. Previous to starting the affiliate I had prepped a few times over a number of years, I loved the whole process and I love training but I was never able to… give it 100%, I WAS the sort of person not to open up and never talked about feelings so I ate my emotions instead and it became regular. – I had been following plans for the majority of time for over 5 year so I decided to join the Affiliate. From day 1 with there was no restrictions. I learned in small steps over weeks and months all about myself, learning to prioritise sleep, stress levels, my caffeine, movement and most importantly for me is that after 36 years I have built a healthy relationship with food. I now enjoy food guilt free. Since October have lost 6 kg and in this time Larry has increased my food 3 times. (In this time I have had takeaways and drank and made it through Christmas without making a pig of myself!) I’m eating more then ever now and energy is great. The Affiliate has totally changed my view on exercise and nutrition and for the first time in my life I am completely mindful of what I am eating and making good choices without feeling like I’m missing out.
I started the Affiliate two months ago feeling quite low if I’m honest. For the last few months of 2020 I could feel my weight slowly increase and I felt crap but was doing nothing about it. I’ve never been great in sticking with the gym anyway so there’s no point in me saying those… being closed was my problem! I’ve tried so many different things over the years, some lasted longer than others, but I always knew in the back of my mind that I wouldn’t keep it up. I put too much pressure on myself to do things perfectly so I always made it too difficult and unsustainable, both with exercise and nutrition, which just set me up to fail. I’m listening to my body and take a rest day if I really feel that I need it, without feeling guilty. Before, if I missed a day of exercise, I would think I had ruined the week and just gave up. I have so much more compassion for myself now and if I miss a day I just get up and keep going the next day. In terms of my weight, I have dropped 5kg since I began and my confidence has risen drastically. I am learning to love and understand my body better which is a first in my life. I don’t deprive myself of anything but I have everything in moderation. It was my 30th birthday last week and I had cake, wine and delicious food without counting calories but also being mindful and not going overboard. My numbers went up slightly on the scales this morning but I wasn’t hard on myself about this and know I have the knowledge and skills to get it down again this week so I really don’t mind. I could genuinely go on all day about how grateful I am that I found the Affiliate, I feel like a different person since I started this and my whole mindset and approach to exercise and nutrition has changed for the better. I woke up this morning feeling excited about the March programme and can’t wait to get started with it today. Larrys knowledge and guidance is second to none, and its clear if you want to be the best you can be, you should be working with the best there is out there.
I have always been a pretty lean build and quite an active individual (gym, running, GAA, cycling, crossfit) Thus always having a high energy output meant weight maintenance was never an issue for me. On the other hand getting calories in and being consistent was my weakness. I contacted Larry in May of this strange… year, and 31 weeks on we are still working together, gaining knowledge and insight, into what can now be described as a whole new appreciation for food, nutrition and lifestyle for me. His clear approach is what I admired the most along with the continuous learning as we progressed. We had weekly check in calls and frequent texts, and despite never meeting Larry and been over 7,000km apart it really has had no impact on the quality of the coaching. The process without doubt takes discipline, and personally having a busy schedule – a full time job, husband, a fitness coach, GAA football player and chairman, along with frequent running and cycling sessions in the mix, I really appreciated all the knowledge Larry had to offer to balance my busy lifestyle, all the while making significant progress with my lean gain. I heard of the affiflate through a friend, She recommended it to me at a time when I couldn’t escape the” diet mentality” and my own “binge, restrict cycle”, despite my best efforts. I didn’t know what to expect but I definitely didn’t expect to learn, grow and achieve as much as I have with… the help and support of Larry and Kate and the amazing platform they have built via the Affiliate. When I first saw posts from Larry in relation to the affiflate, I remember seeing “it’s the last diet plan” you will ever need… A huge statement in a world where diet culture is rife with fad diets and unsustainable programmes, “8 week shred” and every other plan imaginable. But in truth, the affiliate honestly is where the book stops. Don’t join to expect a spoon fed meal plan. There is no growth, sustainability or enjoyment there. What Larry and Kate offer via the affiliate is truth and genuine knowledge about food, macro nutrient guidance and the ability to build your diet to suit your own goals. This for me was massive. The guys are also excellent professionals in many ways – particularly when I opened up about struggles with emotional eating / binge restrict cycle. They were able to refer me to expert resources which worked hand in hand with the training and nutrition support they offered, daily. The affiflate is so accesible, suitable for beginners who have never heard the term “macronutrient”, right up to fitness savy gym fanatics. Their online content, support groups, layout in general and Kates super handy and easy Instagram page where she features lots of gorgeous recipes are all brilliant. And most of all, realistic. If you put the time in, and follow the guidance, you will go from learning about my fitness pal and how to track, to learning how to eyeball food and truly understanding it, without feeling like a slave to tracking every morsel of food. Before I started the affiliate I was frustrated and not confident in the way I looked , I was pushing and pulling weight getting stronger but it didn’t look like that in the mirror I had no shape or definition, then I started the Affiliate I was given a really detailed workout plan complete with… a library of videos and alternative exercises aswell made workouts interesting. The diet and nutrition info I was sent was excellent so much information and very flexible allowing for treats and chocolate etc , very useful tracker , info on improving lifestyle and so much info on larry’s facebook and instagram and quick replies if I had any queries. I am hoping to do larry’s workshops in future and continue to improve and get better and look better and feel better”. I joined affiliate almost 3 years ago with the goal of dropping one dress size. I dropped that very quickly then got pregnant shortly after, but stayed working out and eating healthy, gave birth to a very healthy baby and spent 6 months breastfeeding with no issue, dropped 30lbs within 4 months of becoming a… mom, and changed my goals along the way. I went from wanting to drop a dress size, to running 10k and going from squatting 8kg to now doing 55kg I eat takeaway most weekends and a few glasses of wine with zero restriction and no guilt, I still ask questions every week in Larrys Q and A and I’m not anywhere near done yet! Old goal: drop a dress size.

I met Larry first at 16, first person to show me around a Gym. After two years of training I went to college where fitness and health wasn’t a priority and for various reasons gained a lot of weight. 250lbs at my heaviest. I tried training on my own for 2 years to get back… in shape but I quickly realised I needed a helping hand which I more than found with Larry! Under Larrys guidance I learned more than I ever thought I would about Training, food, sleep, mobility, a balanced lifestyle amongst so many other things and with this guidance I am now sitting at 165lbs, having completed my first Marathon and photo shoot. I must add this was all done on a vegan diet (vegan since 15). I am not someone who pushes veganism, I only mention this for those who think it’s impossible to gain muscle, lose fat and run marathons on a vegan diet. I’ve been an ongoing 1-1 client of Larrys for 9 months now & previous to that had been an Affiliate for about a year- it was definitely one of the best decisions I could have made. I see Larry as not just a coach but also a mentor & could not recommend him highly enough.… The level of detail/knowledge/education he can provide is second to none, and even though I may roll my eyes & throw a strop from time to time, I am very proud to be under his wing. I don’t only take his guidance on a personal development level but on a business level too, as a coach myself I have learned a lot from Larry & can not speak highly enough of the service he provides.

I feel better in myself, happy with food and getting active again.
In a short period of 3 weeks I have lost 10 & 1/2 lbs. That might seem like a-lot or noting to some but to me it has changed my whole mindset, given me focus and now I’m determined to get to my goal with the help and support of Larry Kate and the Affiliate community
I learn at least one new thing every week and I have become a lot less stressed about food
I experience very little guilt around food now and has come from the knowledge and guidance of Larry & Kate . I know how to fuel my body & I now understand I have control over my choices and to not let food control me. I train max 4 times in a week, but right… now its 3! I used to be so stressed about not training everyday but I see the rewards in active rest and recovery and I’m able to kill sessions as my body is recovered. I have been with the affiliate now since Sept 2018, taking a short break over summer 2019 due to travels, but I continued to follow the workouts when I could. Its been the best investment I’ve ever made and continues to be. I have achieved my own goals (various ones) throughout my time in the affiliate programme. I played my most powerful football (county level) and I learned so much about how to rest my body correctly and also the lifestyle factors that can hinder progress. Being part of the community means its not just me on my own doing this.
The three biggest things for me: 1. Accountability- it’s not just me on my own doing this. 2. Constant touchpoints- when I open Insta you’re there, Facebook- you’re there too…emails, oh there you are again… oh my tracker!! This has been huge for me to stay motivated and accountable. 3. Mixing it up with the… foods. Its very tempting to get “samie” when dieting but again the insta gives me daily ideas. The biggest thing for me has been learning to eat without shame or guilt and been able to deal with food without feeling bad emotions towards it. Also the exercises I’m extremely grateful for your creativity during this rough time in lockdown we are all facing. I am constantly learning from Macro Management and its application… in life, the approach yourself and Kate have towards life, which has given me a new way of seeing things. I actually focus more on least mode now than anything. I’ve been maintaining or losing weight and the slow application of exercises to my daily routine has made me more determined to continue, while working around injury. I did crossfit training before going the Affiliate, I moved to new gym to try something different commercial gym & needed a training program needed and structure then lockdown happen ? but the homeworkouts are actually brilliant I am learning loads about reps,tempo etc and thinking of the muscle. It is making me slow down… alot on the movements as with crossfit it can be alot of fast going ? Also started off sometime in April I was around 65.3kg so now my 63.2kg and food is really high veggies are high too ! Love kates veggie soup to is like another meal yayyyy I joined up with Larry and kate as I wanted more of a life style change like it might sound dramatic but when have prepped for a few photoshoots sometimes it hard to switch off the side of my brain so ye have taught me loads about food, sleep stress and your environment and I’m sure there will be loads more to learn. Joining the Affiliate programme, I was looking for a bit of guidance and structure to my training and nutrition and I think I got that and more. I’ve been delighted with the process so far, I took it slow to begin with and Larry & Kate just make the process easy – giving you the tools… and resources to use/take on at your own pace. I’m really enjoying my food and training at the moment and I think I would’ve been a completely lost with my training going into lockdown without the Affiliate.

I started with the guys over 12 months ago on the Affiliate. I started mainly due to my previous lifestyle being a constant battle of over training, under eating leading to constant burn out & then binging & back to square one, I knew I had to get out of this vicious cycle. When I… started the guys thought me how to enjoy food & make delicious recipes, how to train efficiently and effectively with 4 days a week, the importance of sleep & the importance of recovery/downtime – the last two being something I wouldn’t even consider being relevant. I’d seen the benefits of this after just a few weeks, I knew I had made a solid choice. The guys then thought me the concept of a lean bulk (something I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing before), as I wanted to build strength & muscle – with future hope of doing a photoshoot. I completed this phase successfully over a 5-month period, gaining 12lbs. Then I began a cut for approx. 14/16 weeks to complete the shoot,which the guys both guided me through too. I cut back 14lbs in this space of time, being in a shape I would only have dreamed of ever being in, all while still enjoying my food and enjoying my training. I’ve learned so much in the last two years since joining the Affiliate. Dealing with the usual ups and downs of life. I’ve been guided by Larry and Kate in how to approach wellness no matter the circumstances. Goals change, as life can throw us curveballs. I started this journey with losing some belly fat… in mind. I learned how to lose some fat. I also learned how to perform exercises correctly and efficiently. When I first joined I had some bad food habits that I needed to overcome . I lacked motivation to go training as I was stuck in such a rut with the same old routine. Kate and Larry helped me overcome my issues in several ways, the main one was a new program every month… which kept me motivated, I wasn’t killing myself with tones of cardio and I began to feel “healthy” in my body and head. I would never call the provided program to a “diet” , its more intuitive eating in order to make healthy choices, your given your macros in food and get more bang for your book by eating all the veg ( which should never be tracked !!!) and top that with whatever you fancy from your macros . You want dark chocolate thats fine its got some good fats .. but you track. The simplistic no bull approach is why they are becoming so well known in the fitness business. I can’t thank them enough. This is the best training I have ever done & I have tried pretty much all fitness centres in Wexford!!
The Trainers genuinely care about you improving, they are hands on – not just counting reps/time, more focus on technique rather than just lifting heavier for the sake of it, every exercise carefully explained, its fun but hard working. I’ve had huge increases in my strength across the board (25kg paused split squat) I’m learning… so much re:exercising correctly, feeling the muscle been worked, activating my core…. the list goes on! When joining the affiliate in August I was aware I had a lot of social events coming up so I wanted to maintain self control and be accountable for the food/exercises choices I was going to make. In October I moved to Australia and travelled for 6 weeks before settling in Melbourne where I’m currently… on the job hunt. A lot of stressors and uncontrollables within this time and without the Affiliate I would 100% have just hit the fuckit button and eaten everything in sight! Between Larry and Kate’s advice and the support of the Facebook Group I learned the tools I needed to stay on track. The Affiliate has given me self control – learning not to hit the fuck it button. Instead learning how to manage calorie intake throughout the week while still having the food I love.

I’ve been a member now for 3 months and I’m absolutely loving it! Its exactly what I needed to give me the knowledge and confidence to go into the gym and smash a great workout. My nutrition has improved and Ive added loads more vegetables and fruit to my meals. Knowing the macros is a… great help. I have really enjoyed my time so far. I have done 12 week programs before and got good results, but because I was checking in weekly I would find myself becoming obsessive and getting upset if I slipped up with food or missed a training session, where as the affiliate has taught me about taking… responsibility and moving on, and enjoying the process! I think it is really good value for money considering its a new program every month and lots of tips/recipes/q&a’s etc! I recently squat 70kg for 5×5, bench pressed 30kg (this is a big thing for me as this was never a good lift for me). I’m not too hard on myself if i make a bad food choice or miss a couple of gym sessions for whatever reason. I find not checking in with weight/measurements weekly puts less pressure on me. I find I am far less stressed in the gym because the workouts are clearly laid out and I don’t have think about what to to next. Paying close attention to rest periods and tempo makes a huge difference when it comes to the weight being lifted and also feeling more satisfied after completing an… exercise/workout. I’m currently sitting at 69kg which is my lowest weight in 7 years!
Started at 78kg in March 2019. I definitely haven’t been perfect, just consistent. I’d say to anyone thinking of investing in themselves is go for it! The pic of me now does not reflect 9 months of perfection – I f*cked up many times over. The difference was that I was accountable and consistent, so when… I did f*ck up I accepted it and moved onto planning the next meal or session. I have a more healthy relationship with how and what I eat, it’s no longer a diet but just what I enjoy.
In the last 5 months for me the biggest change isn’t the scales, but the way I approach food and training has dramatically changed. I now see it as something that fits into my day to day routine, it’s not forced, I have no guilt if I want to eat a choc bar or I… don’t panic if I fall off the wagon. Funnily enough those days are getting less and less. There’s only about 3.5 kg in the difference in those pics, but it shows a steady chipping away while balancing a busy work and having a social life. The training programme is AMAZING – they look super easy but they’re not – really effective, always under an hour and also feel them the next day.
I initially joined for the monthly training programme but its made me think of so much more other than just what I do in the gym. I have no problem with exercise, if anything I over-train as gym / running / classes are a habit and I love training, its everything else that needs my… attention. Nutrition wise I eat a lot – I am active so it was a question of me factoring in more veg and fruit which I have done really well and also focusing more on protein. The wheels of digestion have never been so good, at least once, sometimes twice a day. I eat SO much more veg and now miss it when I don’t have it along with fruit (those evil sugar carbs lol) and this I feel is a healthy way to be.The tracker sheet is invaluable – I love it and it prompts me to loook at previous weeks to see what i was doing more / less of etc. I’m going into Christmas and 2020 with a better mindset – this is long-term and these changes I’m gradually making will be life long habits and I am 100% on board with it. Hopefully next year I’ll lose a few pounds but its not my life’s mission at the moment – health is wealth. Focusing on the muscle in question and time under tension – training the muscle and not just the movement. Small adjustments which can be made to ensure tension is maintained throughout movements.

Warm up the muscle your going to use!!
I realise how much I need to brace myself and breath while lifting Also Larry’s cues on bicep, I always think of this when training arms – imagine theres a tennis ball between your forearm and bicep.
No matter how much you know you always have room to learn more.
The smallest takeaways can have the biggest impacts – for me, it was all about breathing and bracing. What I would have previously thought was “bracing” was actually not bracing and more like me just basically holding my breath!! I’d love a Masterclass with Larry for each section of the body or movement type?!

I have known Larry for several years (2013). I have seen him in action many many times on the gym floor but this was my first experience of working with him (via the Affiliate). I reached out to him at the end of July 2019 – just back from a family holiday. I have 2… young (active) kids (3&7), work as a Project Manager for a large IT / Pharma company and travel quite a bit (from time to time). I have always been very active and lifted in the gym 3-4 times a week. Generally would eat well (generally) but the last 6-12 months, no real structure in terms of training or food. I also for the first time in my life didn’t have the energy I once had. With turning 40 in Feb 2020 – I decided to use this as a ‘kick in the @rse’ to myself to get myself back on track. The affiliate makes things easy. They (Larry & Kate) give you the support to start your journey but also to maintain. It is easy information to absorb, little by little – never over complicated. I really enjoy the conditioning that is part of the plan. Now, I prioritize my 4 sessions per wk and I do meal prep again (btw no food plans are given, just high level macro breakdown, so YOU eat foods YOU enjoy – make it work for you). The guy’s also share tonnes of food ideas on a daily basis. Nothing is off the table, it is up to you to mange how & what you eat. The next stage for myself is to go into an ‘improvement cycle’ which will also see me eating a LOT more food ……I cannot wait for this!! Totally different to any training I have tried before! I don’t think you’d get it anywhere else. From my point of view… for your trainer to be so informed and educated on women’s bodies and hormones (I’m 7 months PP & breastfeeding) I think is amazing. So impressive!!

Understanding the micros/macros etc. Being able to have any question answered while being able to get views and opinions from all people involved which gives a access to large amount of knowledge. In the gym I have shifted my focus to, in equal parts, weight, tempo, and technique. Where previously all I concentrated on was lifting as heavy as possible.While on the Affiliate I have developed a better relationship with food which not only results in better body composition but also a more mature and less guilty… mentality when it comes to food. Really opened by eyes to treating each client as an individual with specific needs. Two people may desire the same result but will require a different journey to get there. I have already started to change the wording I use in emails/texts, the exercise choices and programming etc since coming to the workshop… and these… are all things which I will be paying much more attention to so that the clients experience is catered to them as a person. I learned a lot more today about what I can add to my expenses to reduce my annual tax – straight away thats earned me more income!! I am also going to start to take deposits in order to create greater client “buy in” and commitment.
After today I’m definitely going to adapt my own coaching style to better suit my clients.
I got a great insight into the use of “questionnaires” to get more information prior to clients joining our studio – this can really shape how to approach coaching them and working with them for long term success. I’m going to use the information Larry provided and put it into my own guidelines on how… to best work with different types of client to guide my own team of PTs. As an Online Coach, I realise that my way isn’t going to suit everyone and I need to learn to adapt!
I picked up great tips on how to effectively apply different coaching techniques to different types of clients and generally create less friction. I also gained valuable insights into mortgages for sole traders and the use of stripe payments from Kate – loved all the content today!

I started on the Affiliate in February with a goal to lose body fat and improve my diet in general, to date I’m down 13kg. Reached a point where I’m pretty ready for lean bulk,couldn’t be happier with the progress pics from the start to now. It’s so good to see the hard work that’s… been put in has paid off in this first phase. Feel so much better in myself, sleeping better, less stress, eating soooo much better and my relationship with food is night and day from what it was the past few years. I’ve also learned to REST, before the Affiliate I was training as much as I could sometimes 7 day’s a week but just wasn’t getting results, now I take my rest days and enjoy my down time just as much as training! Just want to say thanks so much to both of you for the time and effort you put in to all this it’s helped me along no end!! I am using the “Checklist” I learned at the Masterclass – especially with my deadlifts and squats ensuring all is engaged before moving a weight. I learned alot in terms of training, it really dosent matter what weight you can lift in order for it to be effective everything needs a checklist and you need… to feel and own the movement. I’ve just finished my first 12 weeks with Larry, dropping 11kgs and to say I’m happy with the progress would be a massive understatement!
When I started with Larry in May 19 I was not in a good place with with my relationship with food and / or training. Training felt like a choir which I wasn’t enjoying at all. My food was repetitive & boring which led to many binges and creating a yo-yo relationship with my progress… with getting two steps forward and then 3 steps back! As a personal trainer, gen pop think we’re invincible & always in good shape. I was going through some very stressful times in work & I was looking after everyone and everything but myself . Business came first and my own health, mind & body was put on hold. I quickly packed on the body fat, stopped training & was eating thousands of calories per day, the worst rut I’ve ever been in. From the get go with Larry I felt so relieved & reassured that I had guidance for once. Everything was broken down so simple & easy to understand , the smallest changes Larry introduced me to made the biggest impact. I never knew stress, sleep, digestion all played such a massive part in ones progress! I was dropped Knowledge bombs on a daily basis & each check in every week things got so much easier & better. I have spent the past year working one to one with Larry and it has been absolutely amazing. I have advanced so far, not only physically and mentally – but in so many other aspects also. When I started with Larry I had just finished an extremely intense diet period. I was desperate to get… my body into ‘the best shape ever possible’. Literally only focusing on what I was seeing in the mirror. I was on really low calories and doing hours and hours of cardio. I was totally and utterly, fully absorbed and completely obsessed. I was seeing results (obviously). But I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t healthy. I had developed such a poor relationship with food. This lifestyle was having an impact on so many aspects of my life, my social life, my relationships, my relationship with myself and my relationship with food. Needless to say, following such a restrictive plan took its toll – I was no longer enjoying the process, enjoying my food or even appreciating my results. I felt like there had to be a better approach. Thats when I reached out to Larry. Larry understood where I was coming from when I filled him in on what was going on. I signed up and got started. Larry maintained consistent contact while I was starting off. Offering encouragement, advice, guidance and support. The focus of check ins quickly shifted from focusing on weight and measurements, to the main priorities being general health and well being, water intake, digestion, activity, stress levels as well as enjoyment in and out of the gym. Reminding me of the much bigger picture. I soon got to learn the importance of the foundations. Diet:
***I am using the above word for lack of better term! There is certainly no ‘diet’ when working with Larry. No food groups cut out, no foods off limits. The food side of it is so person specific. I had been following a meal plan previously. Which included maybe… ten foods… The same foods, every meal, every day. I felt, personally, that this really had an impact on my relationship with foods. I used to LOVE cooking and baking. I used to really enjoy my food, I was such a foodie. Over that restrictive period I genuinely found myself becoming somewhat afraid of foods. Larry thought me how to count my macro nutrients and I can safely say I have never looked back. During the initial period with Larry he helped me work on my relationship with food. Teaching me and encouraging me, that no foods were bad. I soon learned how important nutrition was, how important it was to fuel our bodies. And soon after that I rekindled that love I had for food and cooking. Counting macros gave me freedom to cook/eat/enjoy whatever foods I felt like. Now the most important thing I learned about diet with Larry was how to eat like an adult. How to fit in meals. How to actually fuel my body. How to enjoy a bit of whatever I liked. How to factor In whatever was going on in my life. How to eat out at social occasions, how to eat on the go in a busy lifestyle and how to manage when you get caught out. I now feel like I can comfortably stay on track whatever my lifestyle throws at me. Im not missing out, I’m managing things and being smart. Fitness:
As I mentioned earlier, when I started with Larry I had just finished an intense low calorie, high output phase. My energy levels were diminished and my strength was in my boots. A couple of weeks in and my energy levels were through the roof. My cardio was probably about a quarter what it used to be – HOWEVER, it was so much smarter. It was genuine cardio, focusing on heart rate and effort. Previously I was just looking at getting X amount of time done on cardio equipment. Thats when I realised I really wasn’t as fit as I thought! I was struggling to reach my target heart rate for the given time. Just last week I ran 8.5KM in a personal best time. Yesterday I was on the treadmill running and it just felt effortless – I couldn’t run fast enough to get my heart rate up into my heart rate zone! Such an opposite complaint to what I had starting off. My strength is also way up again, even beyond what it used to be. I am definitely the fittest and strongest I have ever been. Health:
Over the past couple of years my resting heart rate had always been on the higher end of normal. Maybe late seventy’s, early eighties. As I started to progress with Larry, making little wins in every aspect – I really noticed this starting to drop. It settled into the sixties and I was delighted, felt amazing. Lately, I’ve noticed it dropping down as far as fifty four. This is not only fitness and health related, there are so many other attributing factors that I learned about along the way. I have always had really poor gut health – I even have memories of it as a child. I had gotten used to it really and wasn’t taking any notice of it. Then I started with Larry and he immediately flagged it, highlighting it as a major priority. It needed to be sorted. As he said himself, I could be dieting all year round and doing excessive amounts of cardio – but when the foundations are off, you are swimming against the current. And it proved to be so true. I got medical advice and was put on a strict elimination diet. At the time I worried about how it would effect my work with Larry, or my progress. Needless to say it was not a problem. Larry was so supportive and a wealth of knowledge. The freedom of following a macro plan rather than a diet plan made it so possible. A year on and I don’t even know myself. I am now aware of what foods I need to avoid and why. In every check in Larry had focus on this aspect, because it was so specific to me. My plan was always tailored to suit me perfectly. Lifestyle:
Without a shadow of a doubt I’ve a hectic lifestyle. I work a full time job, forty hours a week, chaotic work conditions and high stress levels. I do shift work. Go from nights to days as required. Ive always loved fitness and exercise, its always been my outlet. So I have to say, I’ve always made time for it. Training with Larry, I was definitely spending less time in the gym, because I was training so much smarter than before. Quality over quantity. Larry is a big fan of stress management (I thought you were crazy when I started Lar, sorry lol). And I have to admit it took me awhile to see why. Larry was constantly encouraging me to do some ‘least mode’ every single day, preferably something outside the gym. I went with it (probably reluctantly at the start! Thinking I didn’t have time) I started factoring in short periods. Reading a few pages of a book. I downloaded the headspace app. Going for a light walk outside. I rated my stress on my tracker every day. I started to see patterns of when I was scoring my stress high, my weight would spike, my general health would suffer. Larry encouraged me to not take on too much. Less can be more. When my work schedule was hectic, or my shifts changed to nights, the first protocol was to pull back. Pull back from intense training. Increase least mode. Listen to my body, be kind to myself. I would have always just ploughed on and burnt myself out. But when I took a step back I soon came to realise that my results were so much more consistent and sustainable. It took me awhile to realise, but the likes of stress, mindset, lifestyle, water, digestion and general day to day activity – the foundations – are nearly more important than the training and the calories. You can’t build a house without foundations. Put in the ground work, give yourself the time, invest in yourself and you will reap the rewards. There is no need for hours upon hours in the gym, low calories, or any of the other mad measures. I spent years following the above and in one year training with Larry I’ve learned more, had better returns in every department and best of all discovered to manage it all. I joined Larry’s 1-1 coaching in October 2018 after getting myself in a long term rut of cutting calories during the week and then binging at weekends. I had previously worked with online coaches for 12 week periods before and although I got results – as in the scales went down, I never actually got… to the root of my problem. Larry’s coaching had come recommended by a friend who had used his programme before and had said that he was not like any other online coaches. I was a little apprehensive that I was going down the same 1-1 coaching root as before but I couldn’t have been further from the truth. Larry’s initial screening form was extremely in-depth, literally he wanted to know everything about my lifestyle, training routine, sleep and digestion – I knew from that point I was on to a winner. He wanted to know my long term goals, my aspirations working with him and from the outset I knew this time it wasn’t to lose weight it was to change my relationship with food and to fuel my performance in both Boxing and CrossFit. As the months ticked on my weight continued to creep down, my body shape was changing and my fitness was increasingly improving. I felt great! However my biggest change was in my mindset and this is where I literally owe everything to Larry. I had good days and I had bad days. Things happened in my life that didn’t go to plan. I had rough times in work, family sickness and a lot of other crazy things thrown in for good measure but through Larry’s coaching and supportive attitude I never let these negativity’s or challenge’s affect my eating habits which I would have done so before (Emotional eater). Larry over the last 10 months has become a confident to me and we have literally never met! Not only has he helped me achieve my goals but he has been an ear to my worries, my doubts and my bumps in the road. I feel absolutely great and I am extremely excited to move to the Affiliate. I have lost 6 kilos, 15 inches all over and all the while gaining muscle – my body is in the best shape it’s ever been and my training has never been better. I am fuelling my body correctly to move faster and lift heavier in workouts, I am continuously getting new PB’s or small wins in weaknesses and the best of all is, there is not one day that I feel I have been hard done by, by following a ‘diet’. I allow myself my treats, I go out for dinner and I occasionally drink! What more could you ask for!
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Larry and Kate and build up a rapport across the internet that feels like he’s right there with me as I check-in on a Tuesday morning. I believe I now have the knowledge and confidence to go it alone with the support of the Affiliate, knowing that if I have any issues I would have the support and guidance immediately if needed.

I started working with Larry on a 1 to 1 basis back in February 2019, ahead of my wedding which was in August. I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose, but wanted to ‘tone up’ especially around my mid-section as my wedding dress was very fitted, all whilst remaining primarily focused on my… overall health- something which Larry placed paramount importance on throughout. Throughout my 6 months of coaching with Larry, I learned the importance of consistency and that no drastic measures were needed to achieve the look that I had in mind. I enjoyed plenty of nights out and social occasions along the way and Larry was always there to reassure me and help work these events into my week when needed. Larry placed a huge emphasis on downtime, sleep and digestion- which for me is the most important thing I can take away from the entire coaching experience. Working long hours, getting in training sessions and planning a wedding at the same time came with its fair share of stress- and downtime is something which I have massively neglected in the past which in turn affected my digestion and caused all sorts of stomach issues. “Ive lost about 5kg (88 to 83kg) the lowest I’ve been in 2 years all down to applying everything I’ve learned through the Affliate!!
I started the programme with lower back discomfort, 3 months into the Affiliate and I have gone from barely being able to do a body weight box squat to being able to squat up to 50kg and pulling back if I feel I’m overdoing it – another thing I’ve learned…go at my own pace and… listen to my body!! The training videos & fb tips have been BRILLIANT helping me to lift properly/safely. The plan isnt tailered to me specifically but it incorporates all muscle groups and has strengthed my back and core to the point I am no longer in constant pain, I don’t fear the gym anymore and feel empowered! I’ve learned to tailor meals/snacks to my needs and likes and not to sweat the small stuff- don’t get me wrong i still have chocolate etc every day but it doesnt turn into an entire packet of biscuits- they are tracked, managed and fall within the daily calories! I’m very impressed with my results considering I have a full time job, am doing a masters alongside a post grad h.dip (exams, assessments and assignments). In September 2018, I went to Lar with the goal of adding some lean mass along with improving things like digestion, training quality and my relationship with food. After spending 7/8 months in a surplus, we pushed calories to 800/1000 higher than I ever had before (something extremely difficult if you’ve ever been obese &… have had a fear of putting on the weight again). Alongside this, my digestion significantly improved with more awareness around meal timing and my food choices, as well as improving my lifestyle tenfold. I was able to enjoy more meals out & social events with those who mean most, increase my energy levels and improve work quality, along with having a higher life satisfaction. After getting to a stage where we were happy with the tissue added & with a summer holiday in mind, we began to put a plan in place entering a controlled deficit phase to tighten things up. As I write this I am now “finished” up working on a 1-1 basis with Lar and on my way to the sun for a well deserved break from work & life in general. One of the things I have been most impressed by Lar is his genuine care for the health of his clients and his no BS approach. I am a far more educated, aware and confident person than I was even 10 months ago. I can’t thank Lar enough for his alignment with my goals (these non sexy wins are often something which get kicked to the curb when people think about working with a “PT” or a “Coach”). Of course as a by product I am looking the leanest and fittest I have ever looked which is a “nice to have”. We’re down 10+ kg from March 2019 and I haven’t been this light (73.5kg) since I was 10 or 11 years old! Considering I’ve completely changed my lifestyle and body composition this is also a huge win for me. As I move forward I now better understand how my body functions, what my stress triggers are, why/when to train, how important rest is for me to be at my best, and how vital it is to make time to switch off from the world. I’m no longer scared to eat, I now eat to fuel my sessions. I’ve found food freedom and stopped obsessively counting macros. I have so much more structure in my gym sessions and no longer spend time killing myself, I get in and get it done. I now know how to balance a night out… and not ruin my progress, I’m so much happier in myself and feel like a normal 22 year old. The programming is fantastic, there is great variety and I come away from sessions feeling like I’ve worked hard. Through the guidance of the program and Facebook group, I haven’t felt guilty about not getting to the gym much in June. I went to Spain for 5 days of sunshine (where I did train twice… but was limited by equipment available) but the bigger adventure, which I believe the previous 3 months of Affliate training helped me with, was climbing and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro last week!! An amazing experience and my legs definitely appreciated all the lunges I’d done in the lead of to this trip! I’m really looking forward to just picking up v1.4 once I return home, get back into routine and start training consistently again. The three biggest takeaways for me: 1. Reducing my overall training load – I’ve gone from feeling like I need to go to work out 5-6 times a week (each time doing a session with some form of high intensity work), to doing 4 solid, tough sessions a week. 2. Feeling comfortable in the weights… room of a gym because I have a kick-ass programme that is easy to understand, follow and ensure I’m working hard. 3. Facebook group and getting more insight into recovery and the benefit of getting out into nature and just enjoying life outside the gym while still making good choices. After competing in powerlifting for the past 5 years or so I told my self I had to put on weight to get strong which resulted in some strength gains and a whole lot of fat gains…after a chat with Larry about my health I decided to jump on the Affiliate “team”. I say team… because there is so much support from Larry Kate and the rest of the Affiliates.
Just from learning about foods rather than being told don’t eat certain foods I’ve lost a huge 9kg in 10 weeks but push the weight loss to one side my over all health is vastly improving, sleeping better and I have much more energy. Driving for a living I was only doing 2-4k steps a day I now hit 10 -14k a day not because I have to but because I want too. If any one is on the side line it will be the best decision you will make,Larry and Kate give you the tools and allow you to progress at your own pace,no pressure just help. For me my over all experience so far has been great. I love the fact if I ask a question it doesn’t just get answered your self and Kate go in to great detail with everything. At the beginning I was up and down 1kg but in the past month I’ve lost 4kg consistently and I’m excited to eat well every day. My goal is to get down to 68kg by August (I haven’t been sub-70 in over 6 years!) The Affiliate has provided me with the tools I need to… achieve my goals, as before starting I was a bit lost and in denial about how my own decisions were impacting my progress so thanks guys! In… the gym, I feel more confident having my plan each month. I’ve learned more with regards to tempo and quality and it has made such a difference to my body. I have my plan I know what I’m doing going in and I have the Vimeo videos when I’m not sure how to do something (honestly the videos give me so much confidence) I feel I’m more accountable in my food choices but I don’t feel the pressure if I eat a bar of chocolate I’ve failed. Been with a coach in the past that included a strict meal plan and weekly check ins I had a guilt associated with food if I ate off the plan. Now, I make the best choices I can everyday and if I want some apple tart in my nanny’s house I’ll have it!! It’s been 12 years since I first entered the fitness industry as a personal trainer but it had been a few since I’d had a consistent gym routine of my own. I’d grown tired of weights and a crazy travel schedule had left me slack on my food, unprepared and eating on the go. My… main hobby now is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training 5-6 times a week and so my motivation for coming to Larry was to add some gym work to compliment that training and to get into much better patterns with my food on the go. I have stopped over complicating it and I got my love for weights back. I started at a 40kg back squat, I am now at 60kg. My trap-bar deadlift has gone from 50kg to 80kg and my single arm row has gone from 7kg to 15kg!! I previously had issues where I would suffer with constipation and bloating but now have regular movements every morning. I put this down to the increase in vegetables and better sleep. I’ve adopted practises from your facebook posts which have really helped. The biggest factor is leaving my phone in the kitchen at night which… I thought I’d never be able to do. I can’t stress enough the difference this has made, I previously would have stayed up past midnight scrolling instagram or stuck in a conversation, and when the alarm would go off I’d “wake myself up” scrolling lose 20 minutes, then would start the day off in the rush and the entire day would be affected. I’ve pushed myself to lift heavier and have hit PBs on squats, bench press and trap-bar deadlift. I’ve been stricter on sticking to my macros / calories which I’m not finding too difficult as I’ve completely stopped tracking vegetables and am loading up on them (taking inspiration from you and Kate’s instagram). I’m not as stressed out about trying to fit in the gym most days of the week as the plan is only 4 days and in turn feel better. I think it’s so easy to scroll Instagram and want to look like a Victoria’s secret model and I’ve found through the Affiliate I’d rather just be the healthiest, fittest version of myself. They made the whole experience of “cutting calories” enjoyable.
As a coach myself I began 1-1 online coaching with Larry in hope to learn as much as I could while stepping into the shoes of a client for once. I had a goal to get as lean as possible in 6 months but slow and steady for a holiday. No question was too big… for Larry and his knowledge is second to none. I went to Larry to learn about nutrition yet I have been opened up to so much more, the importance of sleep, stress management etc. and have realised how much they play a role in “getting lean”. I encountered a back injury and was frustrated for many weeks yet not once did Larry seem worried, it was all worked around and we made constant progress.

I know this sounds dramatic, but before when I was on a set meal plan I felt like I had to sick to that, I said no to a lot of things or if I did go out for dinner or drinks I would feel awful guilt. One of the reasons I signed up to… this was to try get a better grasp of my food choices and not be tied to a strict meal plan. Before I tended to binge a lot or if I ate one thing that wasn’t on my plan or something “”bad”” I would use it as an excuse to write the day off and eat whatever I wanted. Now I still have some days that I over do it but a lot less, since learning how to track macros and what my targets are I can now factor different foods in that I enjoy. I’ve always enjoyed going to the gym but I used to get bored easily as I was doing the same things over and over but now that I’m getting a new plan every month and changing things up. I’m loving going to the gym these days, I’ve really started to push myself more too, and I track all my weights I’m doing and every week trying to push it a bit further even if it’s just for a couple of extra reps. I’ve lost emotional attachment with food. No food is good or bad to me anymore. I used to freak out if I even ate a sweet, like one sweet!! I eat like an adult, I plan for my treats, and even if I don’t plan I just move forward. I train 90% of the year so… a blow out here and there won’t change me overnight. The gym sessions are very good, I know what I should be doing through the video content. My strength has changed greatly, particularly upper body. I definitely haven’t been the most communicative client you’ve had, but I’ve made so much progress since I joined the Affiliate in September. I started off bored and no motivation left in the gym, but the different workout plans you provided every month really took me out of my slump and gave me that kick… I needed. I have had a brilliant 3 months! I can actually eat 1,950 calories and not put on weight, and I’m feeling leaner each day which is something I never thought would happen! I have taken control of my health rather than just doing what a coach tells me and learned I can balance out calories to factor in ‘life events’. The programme doesn’t mean I’m in the gym for hours on end, I like the gym but I have family and friends that I like to see… too! Too often I have had plans where I felt like I had to choose or put it before time with family. I’m making more of an effort to mix up my food sources and also with my sleep routine. I’m not where I want to be with my ‘physique’ yet, but I’ve set a goal for my wedding in October and am working towards that. I lost over 10kg, got way leaner but my main thing was my attitude toward food became normal.
Before Larry, I had a terrible binge eating problem, where I would indulge in 10,000 calories at least daily through chocolate and sweets easily and then I would feel awful for days but the cycle continued binge, say that’s it no more then repeat. Literally had no control! Over the 30 weeks, I ended up… achieving my goals and more. I feel myself again and rediscovered my love for training. I enjoyed eating out and more normal food whilst achieving goals. Larry enabled me to gain a healthy relationship with food which was the ultimate goal! I do not have any will to binge anymore and I can understand my body more and now can understand what is hunger and what is emotional/ boredom eating. Alongside helping me create a long term healthier relationship with food I also achieved a lot of fitness goals. I ran a Spartan race, Tough Mudder and did a fitness competition whilst losing weight/ bodyfat and feeling awesome. I also work part-time and have college full time so Larry has been very accommodative and worked with me to help me manage life with all training and food! I reached out to Larry in March 2018. I had been with a PT for over a year, tried every diet there was. I thought being with a PT I would achieve results I wanted. I was paying through the roof, they didn’t show up for sessions, and didn’t give me tools I needed, so… I basically threw my money away. When I got in touch with Lar, there was no harsh sale. He asked me what my goals were, fat loss of course. Not only have I lost 12 kilos, I have learned so much more. I sleep at least 8-9 hours per night, I learned to chew my food, resulting in better digestion. My stress levels are very low, I very rarely stress. As a PT and full time student myself, I used to go to the gym 5/6 days a week with intentions of just working as hard as I could. I’ve been on the Affiliate for just over 6 months now. Before I joined I had been going to the gym training 5/6 times a week. I thought I knew what I was doing. How wrong was I? I definitely wasn’t training hard enough and definitely wasn’t training the right way. Apart from the training,… my diet was a mess. I was one of those people that was terrified of carbs. I was only eating protein and veg. I was running on empty. Pushing myself through training sessions, dragging myself through the day. Food was way down, therefore energy was down. Stress, moodiness and irritability was up! I honestly didn’t know what or how much of what I should have been eating. I knew from the get go Larry is a good coach with an amazing reputation, so I put my trust in him and just went with it and stuck to the plan. This meant eating more and training hard. Not only do I work hard in the gym. I put the same amount of focus and energy into nutrition, sleep, keeping NEAT up and keeping stress down. I have been really consistent throughout and have got awesome results. As he says himself KIFS. Nail the simple stuff and the results with follow. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this good. I just feel healthy! And there is soo much to be said for that. My whole outlook on “health and fitness” has changed since joining the Affiliate. It’s about fuelling your body to perform and knowing when to rest. Listen and respect your body. The monthly programs are just great too. Receiving a new fresh program each month keeps me motivated and interested. I feel like I’ve only started to properly lift weights the past few months. Lifting with correct form and tempo and engaging those muscles. The past 6 months have been such a learning curve for me. Im loving the lifting and eating but I’ve also really started to focus on managing stress and sleep quality. Rather than spending my weekends in the gym, I get out and spend some quality time with my family. We go for a hike every Sunday and we are loving it. In the last 10 weeks or so Iv dropped nearly a half a Stone and inches all around including 4 from my waist!
Since starting the Affiliate programme back in September I have such a different mindset to training and eating. I feel way more in control. Training one day less but training hard, eating lots with treats every day. Slow steady controlled progress in a sustainable manner. Thank you both so much for everything, buzzing for v1.4.… And I feel I may challenge myself to a photo shoot prep as I have never felt physically and mentally as good about me as I do right now so thanks guys! Before I started I was a 70/30% guy, pretty good Mon-Thurs then going off track on the weekends. But I’m finding it much easier to be consistent now, and I’m still enjoying life, travelling around different parts of Australia while still being consistent for my goals which I’m loving. Managing stress has become so much better recently. I have suffered fairly bad with anxiety & insomnia the last year but by using the Affiliate I have learned how to de-stress and chill out and it’s pretty much turned itself on its head. I had originally been with Larry for 1:1 coaching last year and I learned so much, so much that I felt like I didn’t need the 1:1 as much, I wasn’t ready to go it alone though as I felt I needed a bit of structure to keep me going and to keep me accountable,… the Facebook group is brilliant and it was great to learn tips and new recipes from other people on the same path – also love the weekly Q&A – the workouts are tough and definitely some things I wouldn’t make myself do but I love that. 4 months With Larry totally changed how I perceive the world of training and nutrition, more than any degree or PT course has done in the past.
I was receiving coaching from Larry for a little over 4 months and I can’t speak highly enough of him and the service he provides. I was fairly happy with my start physique as I’ve always tried to stay in good shape due to Rugby, and coming from a strength and conditioning background I thought… had good knowledge of how to get into shape. However Larry’s knowledge and experience is just phenomenal, and totally changed my way of thinking and how to approach diet and training, which I will now have with me forever. He blew my perspective on ‘cutting’ out the water. The methods he uses makes the whole process so achievable, and at times easy. My past experience of cutting/ dieting has been very restrictive, extremely low calories and very difficult to adhere to. However with Larry, (excluding the last couple weeks) I was eating more than I ever had before and was still loosing body fat, and didn’t feel restricted at all. By the end I had a physique I was delighted with, and was able to hold onto muscle, which ordinarily I would lose whilst cutting. Above all else he gives you the best no BS advice, doesn’t sugar coat and was correct with his forecasting every step of the way (including my estimated finish weight to the exact kg). Any hiccups or worries I had, he would immediately eliminate and be able to tell me exactly what was happening and how to fix it. I am so grateful I was in such good hands for my first bikini competition. For me, a coach isn’t someone who sends you diet plans but is someone who supports and looks after you. I can honestly say Larry did just that and more. He has taught me how to eat to properly fuel… my body and never once starved me! Larry kept a very close eye on me throughout and only made
tiny adjustments when necessary. Everything from the training and nutrition was tailored for my own personal needs and what worked best for me. There really is no one size fits all.
I was also never told to do hours of cardio which I was kind of afraid of, it was kept pretty tight for the most part, even as a 9-5 desk worker. Larry was literally there every step of the way.

Most people will look at the difference between the two pictures and notice the obvious weight loss. But what they cannot see, is the improvement in sleep quality, digestion, training knowledge and overall mindfulness when it comes to approaching nutrition. So far I have completed 20 weeks under the guidance of Larry and at no… stage throughout that time, did it ever feel like a burden. I still managed to work my training and nutrition around my schedule and enjoy socializing multiple times per week, all whilst still staying on track. If anything, working with Larry has improved my social life, as it has given me the confidence to actually approach these situations like an adult and be mindful of my own actions. My training has reached new levels in both strength and in execution. I do not approach training with the mindset of a 300lb mass monster, performing every set to failure and killing myself in the gym for 2 hours everyday. When I started coaching with Larry I was at a very low point in my life. I had done my research and knew this was an investment I needed to make for me, and my mental health and I haven’t looked back since. Quite simply working with Larry has changed my life ten fold. When… I reached out to him, I had lost all love and motivation for training, had developed a severe bad relationship with food and comfort eating and a strong sense of disgust for myself and my body and couldn’t see a way out of it. Before I started training under Larry I was lacking in confidence both inside and outside of the gym, restrictive around certain food groups and terrified by the number on the scales. I wanted an online coach as I felt I wasn’t getting the most out of my training and at times a little lost From… the get go Larry has continued to encourage me to challenge myself. Any goals I had he helped me break down exactly how I was going to achieve them. He has not only helped me to increase my physical strength/ appearance but he has helped me mentally. I now realise no one-food group is the enemy . If you are looking for short term fixes/ crash diets and extreme training plans, Larry is not the right coach for you. As an owner of 2 PT studios I have always worked long hours but always managed to fit my training in somehow. However, after the birth of my daughter I found it extremely difficult to get motivated with lack of sleep, trying to juggle everything. I went to Larry with one simple plan to get me in the best condition possible in 16 weeks. I have known Larry’s work for some time now and knew he was the man to help me achieve my goals through his training and nutrition plans and he did not disappoint. I knew it would… be hard running 2 business’s and having a new born child to boot but was willing to do what it took under Larry’s guidance and motivation to get me through the hardest days when I did not feel like getting up early for cardio or when lacking in energy to hit the gym hard. His training programs are all designed around each individual progressing week to week and seeing massive change physically to drive you on to do better each and every week in and out of the gym. I approached Larry for the typical lose body fat and to ‘tone’ etc but what I got in return was so much more, yes my body composition changed dramatically. Could I be happier with my appearance…of course us ladies are never happy with some body part!! Coming from a powerlifting background my training changed and… I loved it, a tailored programme to suit me and my needs. Larry shared his expert tips and advice made it life long coaching instead of short quick fixes like I see with many ‘PT’s’ .
